Cyrus Eaton Elementary School has a student population (Pre Primary to Grade 6) of approximately 150 students.
Several of our homeroom classes are combined grade levels, and each year we look at student population and grade level
configuration when deciding grade levels and classroom assignments. Our school runs on an 8 day cycle that allows a better subject
coverage. Traditionally on a Monday to Friday schedule students would miss specialist subjects on Mondays due to holidays and Fridays
due to in-service and professional development days.
Cyrus Eaton Elementary currently has several teachers on circuit (% share with other schools) Physical Education is shared 50-50 with
Spring Street Academy, Core French is shared with Cumberland North Academy and Wallace Consolidated, Music is shared with
Junction Rd Elem and West End Elem (Springhill), and Wallace Consolidated. Our guidance counselor is shared with Pugwash District
High school (80-20), Reading Recovery is shared with Northport and Wallace, and other student service staff (Speech Support, Autism
Support) are shared with several other schools and in some cases districts.
